note to The Seven Pillars of the World
The opening seven lines of The Seven Pillars of the World, as duly noted, are taken, with the exception of one word, from the 1940 The Thief of Bagdad produced by Alexander Korda, and directed by Michael Powell, Ludwig Berger, and Tim Whelan, with contributions by Korda's brothers Vincent and Zoltán, and William Cameron Menzies.
